PSMC has excellent library facility. The Central Library subscribes to most of the national and international journals required for undergraduate and postgraduate students and faculty, as per the MCI norms. It is equipped with all the modern facilities such as Internet, CD-ROMs, computers, audiovisual aids and photocopying facilities. In addition it also subscribes to Electronic Journal package for over 1000 journals. The reading room of the Library is open 24 hours including all Sundays and public holidays. The central library timings is from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. The library has also subscribed to MDconsult and EBSCO host - two databases which permit online access to full texts of articles in a number of journals. The faculty has been provided with passwords to access the databases. Multiple copies of all standard text books are available for students who want to have them issued. In addition to the Central Library, each department has its own Departmental Library.
The college has a unique mentorship programme for their undergraduate students. In each year, 10 students are allotted to one mentor teacher who regularly, through mentorship sessions, interacts with the student mentees, where the issues like attendance, academic performance, hostel life in campus, and any other problems faced by the students are discussed, with the aim of providing psychological and moral support.
Students admitted are covered under a suitable scheme for hospitalization by the College.
The hostels, located within the campus, are administered by Wardens and have round-the clock security. Shared, furnished accommodation at the hostels, is provided to Resident doctors, whose services are required for hospital services, on first-come-first-served basis and at the discretion of the Management. Rules governing ‘allotment of accommodation’ are followed in case of those provided accommodation at the hostels. Admission to the course does not, however, guarantee hostel accommodation.
Apart from a Mess at the UG & PG hostels there are three other joints that offer a variety of food to the students. The Surabhi Restaurant offers breakfast to dinner with tastes which suit the Indian palate at a reasonable rate. If one wants to enjoy snacks and ice-cream, in sunshine with lush green lawns around, there is Mother Dairy parlour which is open till midnight. For those who like to watch their weight and figures there is a cafeteria at the Students’ Activity Centre which offers fat-free fare and high protein shakes etc.
